Welcome home to this charmingly updated antique farmhouse located in the rolling hills of sought-after Harding Township.  This fabulous circa 1900 farmhouse has been sensitively renovated to seamlessly blend its rich history with modern amenities. The stunning property is highlighted by many historical features and offers a wonderful floor plan for entertaining.

Introduced by its original 1900s section, a larger entry foyer features bluestone floors, a large coat closet and ample room to greet family and friends.  The spacious yet cozy family room is centered around one of three fully restored and functioning fireplaces.  It has beautiful antique pine hardwood floors, a built-in wet bar and French doors leading to a back porch and private brick patio.  The grand formal living room is designed with built-in shelving, a second fully functioning fireplace and random width antique hardwood floors.  A spacious dining room at the front of the house affords ample room to host large gatherings.  With hardwood floors, a grand bay window overlooking the professionally landscaped yard and the third fireplace, it’s a perfect space for leisurely meals or holiday celebrations.  Completing the first floor is the expansive center island kitchen with a separate dining area featuring a built-in window seat.  French doors lead to the side patio and an antique Dutch door reveals the laundry/mudroom with its own separate entrance.

The second floor features four bedrooms and three full bathrooms.  The generous master suite is highlighted by soaring ceilings, antique hardwood floors, French doors to the “Juliet balcony,” dual walk-in closets, a sitting area and en suite five-piece master bath.  Three additional guest rooms and two updated bathrooms complete the second floor.  The walk-up attic with storage areas is accessed from the second-floor landing.

Professional landscaping offers maximum privacy and plenty of areas to relax or entertain.  The fully fenced heated in-ground pool is an ideal place to relax on hot summer days.  A large brick patio connecting to the family room is the perfect place to relax and read a book or host an informal gathering.  Along the front of the property, the owners have taken special care to plant a row of large arborvitae to ensure maximum privacy, while deer fencing around the perimeter of the property ensures that all the landscaping stays intact.

Located close to major highways and Midtown Direct trains, this idyllic Harding setting offers a country escape with access to the township's bridle paths plus local and national parks as well as amenities and shopping. Additionally, this charming residence is close to Harding Township School and numerous private schools.

Harding Twp. NJ

Harding Township (New Vernon), NJ real estate market

Established in 1922, Harding Township was named for then-President Warren G. Harding.  Its location 45 minutes from New York City belies the pastoral scenery; where horses, sheep, and cows graze in meadows and open fields. There are about 50 miles of bridle trails winding throughout Harding Township, which are maintained by the Harding Township/Green Village Bridle Path Association. This atmosphere is ensured for future generations since 40% of the township is protected open space.

New Vernon and Green Village are two sections of Harding, in southeastern Morris County. Forbes magazine ranked New Vernon as "one of the 25 most expensive zip codes" in the country in 2006.

Green Village is an unincorporated area within both Harding Township and Chatham Township. Located just north of the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, Green Village has its own post office and fire station.
